An "exotic" type of physical and intellectual "art" and Brazilian-flavored roots in Africa, already known to many as capoeira, is taught daily in Modulor by Professor Dudu (official Carlos Eduardo Guerra Costa), as a part of all events of the Centro Cultural Capoeiragem, of non governance and non profit organization, that its goals are teaching and practicing of Capoeira Angola. The courses are addressed to beginners and advanced students of all ages ( for children over 6 years of special classes capoeira kids). Capoeira is a combination of intense workout of all muscle groups of the body and the game requires concentration and above all, cooperation and good communication with others. Often capoeira is described as a mix of martial arts, dance, music and song. Correctly, only that in capoeira the winners are always two and dance serves mainly the flow of the movement and not the aesthetics.
Professor Dudu
The teacher of capoeira in Modulor (Carlos Eduardo Guerra Costa or simply Dudu) is a student of Contra Mestre Paulinho and deals with capoeira for more than two years and in recent years has classes with Mestre Sombra. He came in Greece a few years ago and teaches capoeira in adults and children. He is 28 years old and was born in Santos - Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he grew up. To Dudu, necessary features of a capoeirista is the open mind for learning, respect for the teacher and students, engage with the institutions, the song that accompanies capoeira and knowledge about the history and content.

Wearing:
Remove all accessories (watches, rings) that can break and / or injure you. Choose shoes that you do not wear outside the hall and have slip-resistant rubber soles, or you can stay with bare feet. To give you comfort movements in the course, it is enough to wear an elastic uniform or trousers and a plain t-shirt.
What you should know about capoeira before you start
The first thing one learns when starts capoeira is the ginga (the "Authority" and "end" of all movements) that was slowly initiated in the traditions of older capoeiristas. Also someone learns how the game of capoeira is a question and answer and there are winners and losers.
Capoeira in Greece
It all began in 2001 with a capoeira workshop organized for the first time in Athens by Mestre (Master) Ediandro (graduate of the Association of Capoeira Senzala de Santos of Master Sombra and founder of the Academy Banzo De Senzala). The seminar was a success and so the first capoeira academy in Athens was founded as a branch and a member of the Association Banzo de Senzala Barcelona.
A little history
Capoeira was born in Brazil by West African slaves who toiled in sugar cane plantations of the Portuguese colonists in the early 16th century. Today it has become a very popular pastime for young Brazilians gathered in dozens of schools across the country, in streets and squares and engage in spectacular rodas, passing on timeless values of capoeira: freedom, respect and devotion.
