Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

In this lesson, Nick Zografos directs the practice of ashtanga vinyasa yoga. Main features of this system of yoga is
- vinyasa, a steady sequence of physical postures (asanas) with gradually increasing difficulty,
- the combination of breathing and movement that causes profuse sweating and opens safely strengthening his body simultaneously,
- the concentration by focusing on specific points (dristhi).
The practice offers a natural level of flexibility, strength, balance and lightness, respectively leading to a spiritual / psychological level wellness, energy, calmness and confidence, paving the way towards self-realization.
The course is addressed for all those seeking an alternative way to fitness, giving quick and consistent results.
Nick Zografos
Nick Zografos started yoga in 1998 when he was in Brighton, England to do his PhD in experimental psychology. During his PhD he started teaching yoga in Brighton Natural Health Centre in January 2001 under the supervision of Christina Karytinos - Ireland and continued to teach there until January 2003. After completing his doctorate he returned to Greece in March 2003. Since then he teach yoga in Athens and wherever else he is found, having full confidence in the system of Yoga to improve every aspect of human personality.
He had the good fortune to be taught by Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath. Periodically he refreshes knowledge and practice of yoga with Jean-Claude Garnier.
Wearing:
Comfortable and simple forms, t-shirts, while the end of the course is good to bring along a pair of socks and a sweater or even a small wool or fleece blanket to be covered. The school provides appropriate and necessary slip yoga mats (especially mattresses), but if you want you can buy your own from selected sporting goods stores.
